Loving it...

Phnom Phen, Cambodja.. Waw!!!! Its seriously in the running of becoming my favorit capital!

Btw i hope u dont mind, but im skipping to english again, for several reasons. Its good to practice my english writhing, travellers i meet here can read it aswell and going from english to dutch is quite difficult sometimes.

Lets start at the beginning. So flew to Kuala Lumpur, spent the night at the airport and then flew to Phnom Phen in the morning. It was quite fun actually at the airport. I had eight hours to fill, and its funny how u manage without going crasy. Was even able to sleep for two hours, just on the ground. I'm happy to see that im getting the hang of it, just sleeping where ever i can, considering i used to be a very difficult sleeper.

Arriving in Phnom Phen, i was offcourse really tired, and i was happy to see that everything went very smoothly. Getting a visa, getting a tuktuk to then discover that Phnom Phen was surtenly not what i was expecting. For a country that is so poor, it has hell of a capital! I was feeling really happy in my tuktuk actually this morning.

Its modern, beautifull and it has the allure of a capital but its totaly not that busy. There is a lot of traffic of course, but its not like the other big cities. For example you dont here any beeps, where in other capitals there is a lot of noice pollution.

The people are just lovely. There friendly, but they leave you alone. They do ask if you want a taxi, tuktuk, .. al the time. But it is less agressive. I've been here now a day, and no local has invited them to my table yet, which is a good thing:-)
Offcourse i have to take in consideration, that it is a capital, and these things dont happen that much in capitals. Its more a rural thing. But anyway it is a nice change.

AND!!!!!!!!!!!! There is wine here!!! Ahhhhh I now this sounds a bit alcoholic, but after two monts its a real treat! So went to the supermarket to discover they also sell normal bread and cheese. So thats my dinner for tonight! It is more expensive than to eat in a restaurant. But considering ive been eating two warm meals a day for the last two months, its really nice to have a sandwich again. So Nelsie, i'm having a tapijt-picknick again ;-)
